Price a Thanksgiving grocery list before you pick the store
A Thanksgiving ad usually shouts about one thing: the bird, the pie, or a can on the endcap. That number can be real and still be a bad reason to choose the store. The rest of the dinner is where the trip gets expensive.
WorthIt can price the short list before you drive.
What to type
Open the grocery list and add the dinner you will actually cook. Turkey or a roast, potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, butter, a pie filling. Keep each line the thing you buy. Put a brand on the line only when you need that exact item. Otherwise WorthIt prices a typical staple, not a specific box.
Set the quantity on the line when you need more than one. Do not type the item twice. The list holds up to 12 items, so leave off the snacks you are not deciding today.
Allow location when the phone asks. Nearby grocers come from where you are. If location stays off, WorthIt cannot find the stores for that trip. The compare uses your signed-in WorthIt account, and the whole list counts as one analysis, not one per item.
This check is typed. It is not a photo of a sale tag.
What you get back
WorthIt looks for grocers near you and prices the basket it can:
- A one-stop result, with an estimated total for the list at that store.
- The other nearby grocers it could price, so you can see the trip beside the winner.
- A note when splitting the list across stores might cost less. An extra stop is often not worth that gap.
Those totals are estimates for typical staples. They are not the live register price, and they are not a promise that every item is on the shelf. A line with a brand is the one WorthIt treats as specific. If a row looks cheaper, treat that as a reason to check the store, not as the number the register will charge.
Pick the store, or check one tag
If one store can cover the dinner at a total you are fine with, go there. If the winner is far and a closer store is only a little higher, the closer trip can still be the better one. Read the estimate, then decide if a second stop is actually on your way.
Use a Save photo only when you are already in the aisle, holding one item, and the question is that tag versus Amazon, Walmart, or Target. Those comps are estimates too. They answer one product. They do not pick the store for the whole dinner.
Run the list before you leave, on the dinner you are about to shop. You are not trying to price the whole holiday catalog. One short list is enough to stop a single advertised item from choosing the trip.
